Candidate should have broad-based experience in workout and restructuring matters, as well as substantive experience in bankruptcy proceedings. Candidate will assist in the representation of debtors, creditors, and official committees in business bankruptcy matters. Strong writing skills are required. Candidate should be someone who works well in a collaborative environment, takes initiative, and works independently.

KEY JOB DUTIES:

  • Collaborate with attorney and support staff regarding procedures utilized in the firm’s bankruptcy practice as is relates to litigation and Chapter 11 bankruptcy management
  • Provide loan level recommendations to clients and staff regarding compliance with the Federal Bankruptcy Code, local rules, case law, etc.
  • Maintain ownership of assigned files to ensure timely response by local counsel to meet client and internal expectations
  • Review court docket and case information via electronic case monitoring to promptly determine when action is required and refer to local counsel as necessary
  • Assist local counsel in the management and defense of litigation in Chapter 11 bankruptcy cases.
  • Respond to inquiries from clients, attorneys, vendors, and internal departments regarding files assigned
  • Review Chapter 11 plans of reorganization and provide legal recommendations to clients as to the proper course of action
  • Perform other duties as assigned
  • Update various client servicing systems as required as well as internal tracking systems

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS :

  • J.D. from ABA-accredited law school
  • Bar admission in good standing
  • 3-7 years bankruptcy experience
  • Experience in drafting pleadings, making court appearances, and case law research
  • Must be able to proficiently handle appearances, all aspects of creditor representation with minimal or no supervision
  • Excellent leadership skills
  • Excellent communication and organization abilities
  • Strong work ethic with the ability to balance and prioritize high volume workload

Salary is commensurate on experience
