Position:

Environmental Manager

Primary Report to:

Plant Manager

Primary Supervision of:

Environmental Coordinator, Environmental Secretary

Required Qualification:

B.S. in Chemistry, Environmental Science or Biological Sciences. Knowledge of environmental regulations and chemical processes. Experience dealing with EPA, DEQ, etc.

Responsibilities / Key Activities

• Responsible for the plant’s compliance with all applicable environmental laws and regulations.
• Provide technical advise and assistance to line management in the various areas of environmental regulations.
• Implement policies and procedures to ensure compliance in all environmental areas (i.e. air, water, landfills, emergency response, etc.).
• Work with Engineering to ensure that plant equipment and processes are adopted with due environmental consideration given.
• Responsible for the development and submittal of required reports to ensure environmental compliance for the facility (i.e. air, water, hazardous and non-hazardous waste).
• Train personnel on upset reporting procedures.
• Process permit applications, interface with regulatory agencies and be active in industry environmental efforts.
• Coordinate non-hazardous / hazardous waste disposal.
• Develop and coordinate site waste minimization efforts.
• Develop and foster a constant environmental awareness image among all employees of the facility.
• Understand and adhere to company policies and procedures.
• Other duties as required.
