The primary duties for the medical scribe are to accompany the physician into the exam room in order to document each patient's interaction with the doctor. Scribes will use the Electronic Health Record (EHR) system in real-time to document dictation from the physician. Scribes are clerical in nature and are not patient care providers. Qualifications include a minimum of one year in the healthcare field, experience in a direct patient care environment highly preferred, strong knowledge of medical terminology, high school diploma or equivalent, and a valid Florida driver's license for travel between clinics. Background, drug, and nicotine screenings are required. The role supports safeguarding patients and staff, with vaccination requirements and a drug-free workplace policy.
