Position: Laptop PC Hardware Repair Technician

Location: Kissimmee, FL

Compensation: $15 per hour

Employment type : Part Time (5pm-9pm, Mon-Fri Shift)

Position Summary: Responsible for repairing Dell and Lenovo laptop PCs which have failed under warranty and also have been physically damaged. Position entails replacing broken laptop parts with new and/or used working parts. Common repairs include: laptop screens, palm rests, hinge, casing, motherboard and hard drives / SSD replacements.

Responsible for working with clients via phone, email and ticketing system and escalating issues to sales, management, or tier 2 support when necessary. Occasional customer site visits may be required.

Core Responsibilities / Duties:

• Repairing broken laptops on a timely basis
• Communicating with clients verbally and written on repair status
• Working assigned repairs/tickets in a priority order
• Keeping open tickets updated daily
• High level of communication with clients and colleagues
• Driving to and from Client Sites to troubleshoot/repair (may be required)
• Training Initiatives

Requirements:

• Experience replacing/repairing hardware on laptops and desktops
• Familiarity with the inner components that make up laptops and desktops
• Ability to clearly communicate instructions written and verbally
• Degree in related IT field is desired but not required.
• A well-rounded knowledge of IT
  • A+ certification is desired, but not required
  • DELL and Lenovo technician certifications and testing may be required
• Act in a mature and professional manner towards clients, vendors and other QCS employees at all times.
• Possess valid Florida drivers' license and have access to a good working car.
• Must be able to lift and carry 50lbs. (ex. PC's, Server's, Printers)
